Boy Scout Troop #565

It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

The Boy Scouts is an educational program for youth, which develops character and fitness, and prepares them for citizenship. The boys learn valuable skills that will follow them throughout their lives. Community service combined with high adventure outdoor activities are among the many activities the Boy Scouts enjoy.

To help foster a sense of personal responsibility and citizenship, the Scouts are required to participate in service projects approved by their Scoutmaster for the ranks of Second Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. Our troop is always looking for service projects. We regularly assist at such parish functions as spaghetti dinners as well as working to clean up the grounds in the spring.

Boy Scout Troop #565 meets in the OLBS cafeteria on Thursday evenings, 7:00 to 8:30 PM from September through May. Any boy who may be interested in joining our troop is welcome to come to any Thursday meeting to see what we're all about. The Scouts are always looking for adults to help with leadership or merit badges.
