Parish Outreach
[ back to directory of organizations ]
We are a small group of volunteers operating a pantry out of our church. Although mainly in service to our parish and parishioners' families, we also extend to the nearby neighborhoods of Lancaster and Depew.
Outreach is totally funded through the generosity of our parishioners. We belong to the Western New York Food Bank and thereby qualify to participate in the FEMA and TEFAB grants.
Besides delivering groceries to our families on a monthly basis, we also provide Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
We sponsor a "Giving Tree" program that provides gifts through the generosity of our parishioners for needy families. The project returns approximately 800 gifts that are disbursed not only in our parish, but also to Queen of All Saints Church in Lackawanna, the Benedict House, Helping Hands of Greater Buffalo, and Erie County Medical Center.
Two clothing drives are sponsored each year for our families. However, our priority service would be our supplemental food program from our pantry.
People interested in this ministry should be compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental. Involvement may include as much or as little as they may wish to share. We meet once a month on the second Thursday, September through May.
