Ladies Guild

Our membership works for the good of the women of the parish, both spiritually and socially. We share in the graces and indulgences granted by the Roman Catholic Church to the Confraternity of the Rosary and Altar Societies.

To share in the spiritual activities of the Guild an annual retreat and Day of Reflection is held. A Rosary is said before each meeting. Members are encouraged to say the 15 decades of the Rosary each week. Monthly group masses are celebrated and masses are requested for deceased members.

Our material contributions to the church include weekly cleaning and decorating of the altar and cleaning of the sacristy and rooms behind the altar. We wash and iron the altar linens and priests' albs and vestments. The Guild purchases items needed for the altar and parish kitchen. Fund raisers to pay for parish needs are also conducted.

The sick and welfare committee sends baby cards to new parents and get well cards to parishioners in the hospital. During our Day at the Erie County Home, the guild provides prizes and homemade cookies for the bingo party. Incentive and reading awards for the parish school and Religious Education Program are provided.

The guild helps with parish receptions and assists with Catholic Charities drives. Members have also participated in the parish lawn fete.
